CR8:BLK Studios Short Film Residency Program
CR8:BLK Studios' Afro-Indigenous Storytelling Short Film Residency Program was created to develop collaborations with filmmakers from around the world. The 14 day residency program allows selected filmmakers a chance to make a short film/proof of concept, travel, and learn about Afro-indigenous cultures in various countries. For the Short Film Residency Program 2025-2026 cohorts, filmmakers will get opportunities to connect with filmmakers in Colombia and Ghana.

CR8:BLK officially launched the CR8:BLK Art Residency Program in 2021 in Ghana and featured the work of emerging Black women filmmakers. The residency program was a two week program that connected Black/African women independent filmmakers and allowed for collaborative work and mentorship from CR8:BLK's network. Morgen Whiteman completed her short film and proof of concept African. American developed from the CR8:BLK Art Residency Program in 2021 in Ghana.
